Taking a step towards improving the performance and quality of students of Chennai Corporation schools, a ‘Pudhumai Palli’ scheme will be launched in 70 Corporation high and higher secondary schools on Wednesday.
The Corporation of Chennai, in coordination with the British Council - Tamil Nadu, has taken up the initiative, which will benefit 14,000 students. The three-year programme is aimed at developing innovative schools in science and language. Around 560 student peer leaders from these 70 schools will be identified by their respective teachers.
The group will be split into two groups based on their age - group I (Class IX-X) and group II (Class XI-XII). These peer leaders will help in developing innovation skills among other students in their schools. .................Read more
