Trust ensuring better study environment for the needy
They were a group of professors who wanted to make a meaningful contribution for needy students. Three years ago, the Paanchajanya Public Charitable Trust (PPCT) came into being to ensure a better study environment for children from economically backward families.
Now, students of two schools in Taramani and Velachery, who had no libraries and make do with damaged computers, have access to books and better computer skills.
The trust also sought the support of various individuals and corporate houses to provide toilet complexes at the schools. “These schools are in the neighbourhood of IIT, Madras (IIT-M). We started the trust to contribute in a small way to help improve the education and health care standards in our region.
