Water project in MP brings succour to parched village


Four years ago, people of Patna village in Chhatarpur district used to walk a dozen kilometres to fetch water. But that is now a thing of the past thanks to the construction of a check dam in Jhuria nullah.

Programme manager of Coca Cola India FoundationHimanshu Thapliyal said that an integrated water project was designed by the NGO Haritika for which the foundation provided financial assistance. The village is located 80km from Khajuraho. Under the project, a check dam, 15 solar street lights, concrete road for 1,300 metres, 90 solar lanterns and renovation of one pond for drinking water purposes have been provided to the village.....................Read more
