The eligibility criteria for the position of principal in secondary and higher secondary schools will now be a post-graduate degree with 10 years' experience. Earlier, the eligibility was a graduate degree and five years' experience.
The decision to increase the criteria was taken by the executive committee of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB), which met in Gandhinagar on Thursday.
The committee decided that the eligibility of principals in secondary and higher secondary schools needs to be revised considering that primary schools have been extended to include class seven.
