5 lakh saplings to be planted in Vellore, Tirupur districts


Good Governance Guards (GGG), a Chennai-based non-government organisation, has decided to plant five lakh saplings each in Vellore and Tirupur districts, two of the most polluted districts in the country, as part of its national initiative of planting one crore saplings throughout the country, S.S. Radhakrishnan, president of GGG, said here on Wednesday.

He was speaking at the inauguration of ‘Depollute Vellore,' the community outreach programme to be implemented by the GGG and the National Service Scheme unit of Dhanabagyam Krishnaswamy Mudaliar (DKM) College for Women in commemoration of the birth centenary of N. Krishnaswamy Mudaliar, founder of the NKM Group of Educational Institutions on the college campus.......Read More
