50 builders fined for violating green norms


The Authority has fined 50 developers Rs 50,000 each, after they were found violating the 2010 construction guidelines of the Union ministry of environment and forest (MoEF). The authority also fined two health department officials Rs 5,000 each for not initiating action against the violators.

The move follows the National Green Tribunal's April 4 directive to carry out inspections across the city, in a bid to check air pollution. Authority officials said eight tractor trolley operators were also fined Rs 5,000 each on Sunday for violating waste disposal norms.

Noida Authority chairperson and CEO Rama Raman said, "We have penalized 50 developers, plus two officials of the Noida Authority's health department for negligence of duty, and eight tractor trolley operators for carrying construction material and waste in uncovered vehicles."...............Read more
