After the expose of the recent corruption scandal in the state mining department, different organizations including the truck unions are standing up against the illegal mafia groups in Ajmer.

So where the mafia of illegal quartz and feldspar mining has been active for the last 15 years, the mafia for illegal mining of bajari has surfaced in the last few years. Reportedly, while the department of mines and geology was getting regular tip-offs on the same, action was taken in few cases.
