The state government has finalized and sent a proposal to the Centre to incorporate four cities under smart city mission, including Jaipur.

The other three cities are Ajmer, Udaipur and Kota. An official informed, "The Centre has sought names of the cities under this mission, which state has to provide by July 31. However, the names were sent early as model code of conduct will be enforced. The names of the cities were sent after receiving chief minister's approval."

He further said, "A performa was decided by the Centre and cities have to meet certain requirements, only then there names can be included under this project. The chief secretary, C S Rajan in a review meeting scrutinized that cities which are selected fulfill the category."..............Read more
