The city-based Pollution Control Committee (PCC), an NGO working in the field of environment, has now taken up the case of pollution in Tung Dhab Drain, also called the Hudiara drain, with the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
The PCC headed by environmentalist and philanthropist PS Bhatty submitted an affidavit through a counsel to the NGT.
Earlier, the PCC had taken up the same case with the Punjab State Human Rights Commission in 1998. Subsequently, it moved to the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2007 and has now approached the NGT.
