The Maharashtra government has taken yet another step to restrict noise pollution in cities by adding the police in the implementation of Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000. Now, anybody can dial 100 to register a noise pollution complaint without revealing his or her identity.
The home department has asked the police to allow citizens register the complaints by dialing 100 and also asked them to take immediate action even if the complainant wants to register the complaint anonymously.
