In an attempt to help the urban audience understand better about the various types of traditional rice varieties, a traditional rice festival was held in the city, recently.

The programme was held at Takkar Baba Vidyalaya, as chool in T Nagar.  The crowd consisted of participants young and old, from school students to expectant parents and others who actively participated in discussions on health aspects of each type of rice and other organic products.

The exhibition included 50 varieties of rice — from the most common samba rice to the less commonly known varieties of red rice, black rice. The other organic produce included oils and teas.............Read more
